[General] Morning news scan

Just quickly I want to clarify this article in the Herald. President of the United States George Walker Bush is defending the war in Iraq (remember it is actually a war, Bush took back that “mission accomplished” thing) by saying that he is protecting America from another attack like those in 2001.

“Our troops know that they're fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere to protect their fellow Americans from a savage enemy," Bush said in his weekly radio address.

"They know that if we do not confront these evil men abroad, we will have to face them one day in our own cities and streets, and they know that the safety and security of every American is at stake in this war," he said.

However, the latest research suggests that Iraq is now a breeding ground for extremist anti-American sentiment and hence terrorists. So in fact the Iraq war is increasing the likelihood of an attack on US soil.

::sigh::

Oh, well back to the Intelligent Design thing (I swear it’ll be here today).
